Paphiopedilum spicerianum 'Unique' is one of the nicest of the species that we own, with its extra full dorsal and petals, imposing presence, and vibrant color. While this species is ancestral to many of the modern day complexes, it is a pleasure to grow in its own right, for it possesses a showy bright white dorsal, good substance with long lasting flowers, and is quick to flower from flask or small seedlings. Novice growers will appreciate growing Paph. spicerianum for its tolerance to a wide range of conditions, while seasoned growers will enjoy this species for its rapid growth, and ability to form specimen plants in a short time.
