'Dicey' proved irresistable when we first saw her, and although several months went by, she finally came home with us and proved to be a wonderful riding horse for me. Many thanks to the Barlows for entrusting her to us. From her show horse days, Dicey was Grand Champion Mare in Morgans at the International New York State Breeders Show. At NY Morgan, she was Reserve Champion in the New York State Breeders Sweepstakes for four year olds, pleasure saddle, ridden expertly by Sandy Currier. And just the year before, Dicey's full sister, Lakeland Infinity, had been the Champion of the same class!

In addition to being a beautiful example of a Morgan mare, Dicey also has an enviable pedigree: her sire is one of the top rated stallions in the breed for siring in hand and performance horses, and she has multiple crosses in the four generations to Upwey Benn Don, and one to Trophy on the maternal side. Too, her dam is a lovely example of Saddleback's breeding program.

Once again we thought of Forevermore for the sire of Dicey's first foal, being firm believers that every breeding should be made as if it were the last for that mare, and we thought that both parents would mesh nicely. Dicey rewarded us with a handsome brown colt, gifted with an extraordinary gravity-defying trot that we registered as................. LSF Nevermoretal.

Encouraged by Dicey's first colt, we bid successfully on UVM Tennyson when he was offered in the New York State Morgan Horse Society stallion auction in 2002. Hoping for a black filly, Dicey gave us just that in the spring 0f 2003! This filly has a lovely feminine head, large expressive eyes, excellent conformation, and should mature above 15.1 hands. With her smooth gaits and elegant way of going she looks to be a dressage prospect.

UVM Tennyson was again chosen for Dicey's 2004 which should arrive in late April. Of course we are hoping for another black filly but will be happy if both mother and babe are healthy and well. Inquiries are invited on this well bred foal!
