LSF HIGH CALIBRE (raf)
What a beautiful colt----and typical of the colts that his sire produces! Blood surely will tell as it does here, since his parents are 2 of the prettiest Morgans we own: LSF FORTUNATE SON and SMS CHRISTENA by Up Hyre Te N Te. 'Riley' is smart, always 'up', extremely sweet, and loves to put on a show. The photo on the right and below was taken the last day of January 2007 in the midst of a bitter cold streak and he has plenty of thick fur but one can still see his beauty and correct conformation, typical of the Morgan that we strive to produce. His body can easily be divided into thirds. His body is also smooth: one part flows into the next, he has good spring of the ribs, and an excellent length of hip and high tail set. Nice tippy ears, big bright eyes, a tiny muzzle, and a neck that flows right into his tremendous shoulder. Well, you can tell we like this colt and could go on talking about him! See his exceptional pedigree below!

'Riley' has a linebred pedigree that includes crosses on both sire and dam lines to one of our favorite stallions of the breed, and who was little used during his lifetime as a breeding horse (perhaps because of his bright red color, although his was one of the top park horses of his day!): Applevale Challenger.

In summer, Riley's coat is various shades of 'orange', but not for long!

'Riley' has a neck that likes to go straight up to the sky....here the ground is snow on top of ice so he is careful and trotting slowly & elegantly (photo from video still)

Here is 'Riley's' mom, SMS Christena, barefoot and with short feet, trotting level and look at those hocks! We think that Riley will have this trot too.

Several months later, Riley is now his true color, and shows his dad's influence
It's January 2007, Riley has darkened even more, grown a dense coat, filled out, and still retained his elegant symmetry

Here's Danielle Paufve teaching Riley to 'stand up big and tall' for the camera on a very cold and windy day. Riley is only 7 months old here and Danielle is 5'8" for comparison.

In the future, become a part of Morgan history!
A nice sunny day to try out the new round pen and chase his brother back and forth!
Riley like all colts loves to run just for fun

Riley has tremendous extension with both his hind legs as well as his front legs!

The family portrait: on the left: the dam, SMS Christena and her foal, LSF High Calibre, sired by LSF Fortunate Son, pictured on the right, in a photograph taken in the summer of 2006 while he was at Cornell University furthering his education. And by the way, Ace never wears a neck sweat so what you see is natural, not man made, which means he passes on this great neck to his colts and fillies.
